Rutledge scores 31 as Viking girls roll past Cougars

Hayfield junior Carrie Rutledge went on a scoring frenzy in the first half as the Viking girls basketball team beat Zumbrota-Mazeppa (10-11 overall, 6-9 Big Nine) 74-31 in Hayfield Tuesday.
Rutledge had 27 out of her 31 points in the first half as Hayfield (17-4 overall, 11-2 HVL) cruised to the win. Rutledge tied Hayfield grad and Hayfield assistant coach Jo Bungum with the second most points ever scored by Hayfield girls basketball player.
Shanna Behrens set the all-time Hayfield record for points in a game with 34 in 1991.
