The No. 5 seeded Austin girls hockey team had its season come to an end when it lost 3-0 to No. 4 seeded Faribault (12-12-1 overall) in a Section 1A tournament opener on the road Wednesday.

The Packers (7-19 overall) fired off 24 shots, but they weren’t able to find the net as they lost to the Falcons for the third time this season. Austin went 0-for-4 on power plays.

Allyson McCoshen put Faribault up 1-0 when she scored with 10:47 left in the second and Haley Lang made it a 2-0 game when she scored 24 seconds into the third period.

Faith Sayles had 14 saves in the loss for Austin.
