Dale E. Hensrud, 63

Dale E. Hensrud, 63, of Owatonna, Minnesota, formerly of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, passed away Monday, Feb. 6, 2017, at his home in Owatonna.

Dale Eugene was born Dec. 11, 1953, to Clifford and Marion (Ingvaldson) Hensrud in Owatonna. Dale graduated with the class of 1971 from Blooming Prairie High School. He was united in marriage to Debra Cornelius on May 27, 1972, in Ellendale, Minnesota. Dale and Debra raised their family and resided on their rural Blooming Prairie farm. They later divorced. In addition to his farming, Dale was employed with Peterson Implement of Blooming Prairie, Farmstead Foods of Albert Lea, Minnesota, and for many years with A.J. Lysne Contractors of Owatonna. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed playing poker and his trips to the casino. Dale treasured time spent with his grandchildren.

Dale is survived by his daughter, Angela (Matt) Ringhofer-Halverson of Owatonna; sons, Travis (Allison) Hensrud of Blooming Prairie and Paul Hensrud of Owatonna; five grandchildren, Tristan Ringhofer, Dustin Hensrud, Brianna Hensrud, Alyssa Ringhofer, and Hailey Hensrud; brothers, Dwayne (Judith) Hensrud of Medford, Minnesota, and Robert (Marge) Hensrud of Kenyon, Minnesota; companion, Janet Wutschke of Owatonna; nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Dale was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Darrell at infancy.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 10, 2017, at First Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie with the Rev. Christopher Miller officiating. Interment will be in Westfield Cemetery, rural Blooming Prairie. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Feb. 9 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Worlein Blooming Prairie Funeral Home, and will continue on Friday morning for one hour prior to services at church.
