The Southland girls basketball was able to find some open looks, but it struggled from the field as it lost 66-54 to Rushford-Peterson (8-4 overall) in Adams Friday.
Southland head coach Dean Bendtsen said he liked his team’s ball movement, but it didn’t result in enough points.
“It was probably our best game offensively, we just have to make shots,” he said.
The Smith sisters stepped up for Southland (2-7 overall, 2-5 Three Rivers) as Gabby Smith had 11 points and Lexi Smith had 16 points.
“Gabby’s starting to get her mojo back after having season ending knee surgery last year. She’s playing a better,” Bendtsen said. “Alison Bottema played terrific defense tonight.”
