Rebecca S. Kersten, 56, of Rose Creek, Minnesota, passed away Monday, Jan. 16, 2017, at Mayo Clinic Health System-Austin following a courageous battle with cancer.

Rebecca Susan was born on Feb. 19, 1960, in Albert Lea, Minnesota, to George M. and Susan E. (Lewis) Miller. She attended school in Burnsville and St. Francis, Minnesota. Becky and her husband Dave of 32 years had a good life together, living in Kenyon, Fox Lake, and Austin. She enjoyed cooking, fishing and gardening, and had a love of the outdoors. Becky absolutely loved her family, and will be missed by all.

Becky and her husband had three children. She is survived by her son, Evan Kersten of Rose Creek; step-children Brian Kersten and Cheryl Witso, both of Rosemount, Minnesota; two grandchildren, David Kersten and Alexander Witso; brothers, Greg (Pam) Miller of Lakeville, Minnesota, and Mike Miller of Apple Valley, Minnesota; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Lee Kersten on Dec.18, 2016; parents, George and Susan Miller; brother, Bob Miller; sister, Amy Jo Ehrich; paternal grandparents, Martin and Pearl Miller; and maternal grandparents, Alfred and Florence Lewis.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017, at Owatonna Memorial Gardens.
