Pacelli names spelling winner

Neha Thawani Nanda, a sixth grader, won this year’s fourth-eighth grade spelling bee at Pacelli. It marks the second time Naha has placed in the event and will represent Pacelli at regional competition.
In second was eighth grader Madison Rysavy.
Two students were chosen from each grade to participate. They were: Yong Achuoth and Grace Schara, fourth; Addy Olson and Isaac Nelsen, fifth; Nathan Schmidt and Neha Thawani Nandam sixth; Iris Rodriguez and Gaige Hardwick, seventh; and Kylee Christopherson and Madison Rysavy, eighth.
Nanda and Rysavy will represent Pacelli on Feb. 7 at the Southeast Regional Spelling Bee in Rochester. The top six will then attend a Feb. 21 Southeast Final Spelling Bee, also in Rochester. The winner attends the national bee in Washington D. C., May 27-June 2.
