The No. 10 ranked Lyle-Pacelli girls basketball team beat Grand Meadow 73-34 in GM Thursday.
Kristi Fett, who had 21 points and 13 rebounds, was effective in the paint early on for LP (9-2 overall, 7-0 SEC) and then it was able to spread the ball out. Abby Bollingberg had 15 of her career-high 17 points in the first half for the Athletics.
“We wanted to bounce back after losing to Goodhue,” LP head coach Justin Morris said. “It was important for us to bounce back and Grand Meadow is a good measuring stick for us in the conference. They’re a really good team that’s in the process of making a big step and we wanted to come out and play well.”
Brooke Walter added 18 points and eight assists for LP, while Riley Queensland had 10 points and Jordyn Glynn had eight points for GM (7-5 overall, 5-2 SEC), which had a seven-game winning streak snapped.
“We wanted to make things difficult for Glynn and take the ball out of her hands,” Morris said. “Our defense was really good and our ball movement was really good. I’m proud of our group.”
