Julie Ann Allhiser, 58, of Austin, Minnesota, died peacefully on Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017, at Mayo Clinic Hospital Rochester, Saint Marys Campus surrounded by her loving family.

She was born March 20, 1958, in Rochester, Minnesota, to Harold and Beverly (Stewart) Allhiser. A lifelong resident of the Austin area and member of St. Edward Catholic Church, Julie married Edward Schlichter in 1977. The couple later divorced. Julie made her living as a day care provider for many years. She enjoyed ABC bingo, loved crafting, quilting, and knitting, and treasured the time spent with her family. She will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her daughters Bobbi Jo Schlichter and Hannah Allhiser, both of Austin; one grandchild, RyLinn Schlichter; two sisters, Sharon (Damon) Morgan of Austin and Debbie Borstad of Madison, Minnesota; her aunt, Barnetta Arnold of Austin; two nieces, Jami Allhiser (Terry Donaldson) of Austin and Amanda Reed (Doug Lindgren) of St. Paul; special friend Crista Green of Austin; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her nephew, Cory Allhiser; and her step-father, Clifford Vincek.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 9, 2017, at the Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin.  Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m., immediately preceding the service. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorials can be directed to the Allhiser family.
