Austin gymnasts take second in Faribault Invite

The Austin gymnastics team took second place at the 20-team Faribault Invite Saturday.
The Packers put up a season’s best score of 143.175 and Cambridge-Isanti won the meet with a score of 144.824.
Austin senior Maddie Mullenbach as she finished with an all-around score of 38.200, while hitting a 9.75 on the vault and a 9.7 on the floor.
“We still have things to work on but we are moving in the right direction,” Austin head coach Matt Schmit said. “The girls are starting to put skills in their routines that they have been working on all year and hopefully in a few weeks we will be hitting on all cylinders.”
