Happy 2017 from Austin Community Education. With the new year driving your motivation it is time to set some goals and a plan for achieving them. To be successful you will need to be specific and realistic about your resolutions.
Remember to reward yourself regularly and not give up after a setback. Changing your behavior or mindset in not easy, but so worth it when you succeed.
Austin Community Education has classes, workshops, recreation opportunities and activities to help you explore new and exciting endeavors and learn new things in this new year. All our offerings are online at www.austin.k12.mn.us/clc or www.facebook.com/austincommunityeducation.
Beginner Trap Shooting for Women will teach you how to safely handle and shoot a shotgun and learn the basics of trap shooting.
Winter weather means keeping warm and there is no better way to stay warm and spend quality time indoors than by crocheting a chunky cowl. Our expert instructor works with both new and experienced folks.
To help your mind and body, take one of our classes on essential oils.
If travel is your thing check out our trips to exotic lands like the French Riviera or Holland and U.S. destinations Cape Cod and Alaska.
Technology continues to change and our classes in Office 2016, Excel, Google, Word and file management will teach you new tricks and skills or help you create efficiencies with your work.
Family game nights are opportunities to leave the TV and technology behind and focus on fun family time. Games teach important life skills and create positive memories to remember for a lifetime.
Youth classes include arts, physical activity, basic safety and our very popular “More Than Pink,” a seven-week summer program to inspire third, fourth, fifth and sixth grade girls to stay true to themselves and live free from social stereotypes. This year we are offering short camps for girls to try the program before making the full seven-week commitment. The week-long primer camps will be offered at all four elementary schools and I.J. Holton.
Regardless of whether your new year resolutions include focusing on your mind and body, traveling more, defining your style, taking up a new hobby or skill, getting organized or stressing less, Austin Community Education has something for you. We look forward to seeing you in class.
