KoMets take down Packer girls basketball team

The Austin girls basketball team took on one of the top teams in the state and they weren’t able to keep pace as they lost 57-36 to Kasson-Mantorville (1-1 overall) in Ove Berven Gym Thursday.

The Packers (1-1 overall) led early on, but the KoMets built up a 29-16 lead by halftime.

KM’s Kristin Scott, who has committed to play basketball at Iowa State University, had 23 points.

“It was super tough. They have a lot of experience and [Scott is] a great player,” Austin head coach Anna Meyer said. “I thought our girls gave a pretty good effort to start the game and then it slowly went downhill.”
