The Southland girls basketball team lost 55-40 to Kingsland (3-0 overall, 2-0 Three Rivers) in Adams Tuesday.
The Rebels (2-1 overall, 2-1 Three Rivers) trailed by 14 early in the first half, but they cut that deficit to six points with four minutes left in the half. However, the Knights rallied and they took a 37-19 lead to the break.
“I was pretty proud of the girls,” Southland head coach Dean Bendtsen said. “They fought real hard, but they didn’t have enough gas tank. That spurt before halftime really hurt us.”
