A woman’s purse was stolen after someone gained entry to her Saturn View by throwing a brick through the passenger side window on Thursday.

Austin Police Chief Brian Krueger again cautioned residents from leaving purses or other valuables in a vehicle, in full view of potential thieves.

The woman’s vehicle was parked at a residence on the 300 block of Eighth Street Northwest. The purse was taken sometime between 5 p.m. on Wednesday and 6:40 a.m. Thursday.

The purse contained a wallet with credit cards, driver’s license and cash, Krueger said. No loss value was given.
