My father, Dennis Schminke, is running to be your local representative in the Minnesota House. I currently serve as the treasurer for his campaign. When he announced his candidacy last April, he made this promise: campaign contributions would come from individual donors only—no money from PACs, lobbyists, party units or any other “special sources.” It has been my task to hold him to that.

Our report, as well as the report for every candidate running for office in Minnesota, has been published on the website for the Minnesota Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board. I encourage everyone to take a look at these reports for all candidates you intend to vote for.

Dennis has kept his promise, and our report to the board will reflect that. He is the only candidate in this race that can make that claim. What it does not show is the following: 90.5% of all of his contributions came from eligible voters within this district. In total, we had 212 unique donors, with an average contribution of $83.

Why is this important? Because money talks. If you want a candidate dedicated to serving you, and local interests instead of special interests, then my father is your candidate. He is a good man—independent, honest and fair. This is your House seat, and he will represent you well in St. Paul. Please consider giving him your vote on Tuesday!
