Donna F. Wermerskirchen, 81 of Austin, Minnesota, died at her home on Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016.

Donna was born on June 23, 1935, in Dover, Minnesota, to George and Marie (Heaser) Michael. She graduated from Lourdes High School in Rochester, Minnesota in 1954 and after graduation, she attended Mankato Commercial College. Donna married Jim Wermerskirchen on July 21,1956, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Rochester. They made their home in Austin where they raised five children.

She was a member of Queen of Angels Catholic Church and she volunteered at the Philomathian Book Store for many years. Donna enjoyed life and she loved spending time with her friends and family.

Donna is survived by her husband, Jim Wermerskirchen, Austin; children, Lynn (Dean) Cafourek, Tyler, Texas, Frank (Toni) Wermerskirchen, Oak Creek, Wisconsin, Sue Wermerskirchen, Rochester, Brenda (Keith) Longman, Plymouth, Minnesota, and Cheryl (Shaun) Caveney, Rochester; six grandchildren; sisters, Sharon (Clayton) McDougal, Hastings, Minnesota, Candace Udey, St. Paul, and Mary Lynn (John) Seitz, Rochester; brother, Randy Michael, Rochester; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and grandson, Michael Longman.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov.11, at Queen of Angels Catholic Church with Father Raul Silva officiating. Interment will be at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Preston, Minnesota. Visitation will be at the church one hour before the service on Friday morning.

Memorials may be designated to Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Austin, American Heart Association, or to the donor’s choice.
