Emily Hyland of Austin, Minnesota, and Alex Laedtke of Brookfield, Wisconsin, have announced their engagement.

Emily is the daughter of Mary and Jesse Hyland. She graduated from Austin High School in 2007 and the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse in 2012 with a degree in radiation therapy. She is currently employed with the University of Wisconsin Hospital & Clinics.

Alex is the son of Carol and James Laedtke. He graduated from Waukesha High School in 2007 and the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2011 with a degree in graphic design. He is currently employed with Pacific Cycle.

The couple will be wed on Oct. 1, 2016, in Austin and they will reside in Madison, Wisconsin following the wedding.
