Donald R. Gilbertson, 83, of Faribault, Minnesota, died on Sunday, Sept. 25, 2016, at his home.

Donald Roy Gilbertson, the son of Roy and Dorothy (LaRoche) Gilbertson, was born on June 23, 1933 in Faribault. He graduated from Kenyon High School in 1952. He married Theone C. Flom on Aug. 1, 1954, in Austin. He was employed by Brakebush Foods of Westfield, Wisconsin, prior to his retirement in 1993. Don enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, walking and reading.

He is survived by his wife, Theone; three sons, Gary Gilbertson (and special friend, Anne Kreiser) of Minneapolis, Brett (and Donna) Gilbertson of Minneapolis and Michael (and Cindy) Gilbertson of Faribault; grandchildren, Hannah Blankinship (and Marc), M.D. Gilbertson (and friend, Samantha), Andrew Gilbertson (and friend, Emily), Sean Gilbertson (and friend, Rachel), Erin Gilbertson, and Ryan Gilbertson; two sisters, Marilyn Anderson and Rochelle Danielson, both of Faribault; one niece, Denise Anderson (and Dave Karpinski) and their daughter, Elan Sabbagh (and Amir); brother-in-law, Jim (and Betty) Flom; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers-in-law, Adrian Danielson and Dewey Anderson; and daughter-in-law, Darcy Smith.

Memorial services will be held at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Faribault at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 3, 2016, with the Rev. Ashley Osborn officiating. A memorial visitation will be held at the church for one hour prior to the services on Monday.

Interment at Maple Lawn Cemetery will be at a later date.
