Peggy Lee Meres, 65, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away peacefully Friday evening at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born May 29, 1951, to Leslie and Evelyn (Peterson) Meres in Mason City, Iowa. Peggy graduated from Austin Senior High School and attended Austin Area Vocational School’s nursing program. She worked at Land O’ Lakes while attending Nursing School. On July 25, 1969, Peggy was united in marriage to Douglas R. Ruble at St. Augustine Catholic Church. To this union three children were born. The couple was later divorced. Peggy enjoyed being a stay-at-home Mom raising her family and celebrating the holidays with her family. She also enjoyed fishing and was an active member of Mower Council for the Handicapped. Peggy was a strong woman who faced many challenges during her life, but never complained. She always gave the best advice and encouraged others to be better people.

Survivors include her three children: Bob (Ellen Novak) Ruble of Austin, Minnesota, James (Traci Peterson) Ruble of Austin, Minnesota, and Kelly (Jeff Connelly) Ruble of Lansing, Minnesota; three grandchildren: Katlyn Ruble of Austin, Minnesota, Alex Ruble of Austin, Minnesota, and Brandon Ruble of Rochester, Minnesota; three great-grandchildren: Benzley, Easton and Ronan; a brother, Bruce Meres of Austin, Minnesota; a sister, Brenda (David) Spangenberg of Eagle Lake, Minnesota; and many other wonderful relatives and friends. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Donna Meres and her step-mother Virginia Meres.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday morning, Aug. 26, 2016, at the Worlein Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be one hour before the service at Worlein Funeral Home. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Memorials preferred to recipient of donor’s choice. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.worlein.com.
