Maureen Kathleen Eklund, 64, of Austin, Minnesota died Friday Aug. 19, 2016, at Our House Senior Living.

Maureen Kathleen King was born Sept. 22, 1951, in Austin, Minnesota, the daughter of Richard and Mildred (Collette) King. Maureen was raised in Austin, graduating from Pacelli High School in 1970. Following high school, she attended the Austin Area Vocational Technical Institute, where she received a secretarial degree.

Maureen worked for the Milwaukee Railroad, Hormel Foods Corporation and several other companies during her career. The job she loved best was as office manager for R&L Window Company in St. Louis, Missouri. She was married and later divorced. Maureen was a member of the Catholic faith and enjoyed crossword puzzles and watching television, especially old movies and westerns. She loved her little Yorkie Alex with all her heart. Maureen was a gentle soul and enjoyed the little things in life. She always had a big smile for anyone she met.  Maureen will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her mother, Mildred King of Austin; four brothers, Richard (Laurie) King II of Rose Creek, Minnesota, Robert King of Austin, Ronald (Teresa) King of Port St. Lucie, Florida, and Roger (Carol) King of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; three sisters, Michele Miller of Omaha, Nebraska, twin sister Marlene (Norm) Blaser, of Austin, and Marcie King of Lyle, Minnesota; brother-in-law Jerry Johnson of Austin.

She was preceded in death by her father Richard King ESQ, her brother Randy King and her sister Merrie Johnson.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2016, at the Worlein Funeral Home Chapel, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Services prearranged and performed by Worlein Funeral Home of Austin.
