Mayo Clinic Health System Auxiliary awarded the Pediatric department at Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin with an annual gift of the BiliChek.

The BiliChek is a noninvasive instrument used to assess the risk of jaundice in newborns. Lights are used instead of needles to allow measurement of the bilirubin levels. All newborns at Mayo Clinic Health System are screened for newborn jaundice prior to discharge from the hospital using the BiliChek.

The auxiliary is a group of volunteers that serves Mayo Clinic Health System patients and families in Austin and raises funds for equipment and patient care items.
