ST. PAUL — St. Paul police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man whose body was found in a parking lot.

Police were called to the shooting about 8 p.m. Sunday. The St. Paul Pioneer Press says the victim’s mother arrived at the scene when she heard her son had been shot.

Jeanette McDaniel identified her son as 31-year-old Renaldo Trez McDaniel, the father of seven children. The victim’s mother says she believes the shooting was gang-related.
