Tuesday brings storms, watches

A line of heavy thunderstorms brought a few weather watches to Mower County Thursday.

Around 5:40 p.m., a line of severe storms was approaching the area.

The National Weather Service out of La Crosse, Wisconsin  issued a flash flood watch several counties in southeast Minnesota and southwest Wisconsin including Mower, Dodge and Steele Counties until 1 a.m.Wednesday morning.

Periods of showers and thunderstorms were expected to push through this evening on a line west of the Mississippi River with some locations expected to see 1 to 2 inches of rain and even 3 to 5 inches of rain possible.

A severe thunderstorm watch was issued through 11 p.m. for Mower County.

Urban areas along with rivers and streams will be the most susceptible to flooding.
