Helen V. Campbell, 79

Helen Virginia Wiese was born May 11, 1937, in Austin, Minnesota, the daughter of Fred and Mildred (Myster) Wiese. She attended Hayfield and Blooming Prairie schools. On Sept. 26, 1959, Helen was united in marriage to Maynard Campbell in Mason City, Iowa. Helen enjoyed her years as a homemaker and raising three daughters with Maynard, living in Blooming Prairie over 30 years before moving to Dexter in 2005. Her favorite pastimes included embroidery, dancing, shopping, and lunching with her best friend Avis. Helen followed Maynard’s stock car racing career for over 25 years, and was formerly part-owner of the Cubby Hole in Albert Lea. She especially loved spending time with her family and her little dog Chi Chi, her very best companion. Helen would like to be remembered as a mom, a friend, and for helping her family whenever she could. She will be dearly missed.

Helen is survived by her daughters Pam (Rick) Gunderson of Rochester, Minnesota, Debra (John) Newman of Austin, Minnesota, and Linda (William) Nelson of Dexter, Minnesota; her special friend Gary Christiansen of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota; 7 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and her brother, Arnold Wiese, of Blooming Prairie. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Mildred Wiese; her husband, Maynard Campbell, in 2000; her sister, Catharine; her sister-in-law, Esther Wiese; her best friend, Avis; and her great-granddaughter, Kayleigh.
