There’s a new dentist in town. Matt Merfeld will soon serve the families of Potach and Mitchell Dental Clinic where he will be seeing new and existing patients.

Born and raised in La Crosse, Wisconsin, Merfeld graduated from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse in 2006 with a degree in biology. After college, he moved to Rochester and worked at Mayo Clinic in the newborn screening lab. During that time, he met his wife, Ann.

While working, Merfeld also began volunteering as a dental assistant with the Salvation Army, which is where his passion for dentistry began. He enrolled and graduated with his D.D.S. degree from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, where he received multiple awards for his clinical excellence and commitment to self-improvement.

In his free time, Merfeld enjoys spending time with family and working on his many hobbies. He and Ann can be frequently seen walking their two dogs and taking bike rides on the weekends. In the colder months, he enjoys restoring vintage arcade and pinball machines, woodworking, and watching movies.
