The Austin softball team had a couple of tough innings as No. 2 ranked Winona handed them their most lop-sided loss of the season by a score of 16-2 in five innings in Todd Park Tuesday.
The Winhawks (12-3 overall) scored seven runs in the seventh and five runs in the fifth as they racked up 18 hits.
“There’s a reason they’re ranked number two,” Austin head coach Al Eckmann said. “They can hit the ball and they’ve got better athletes.”
Brooke Pazurek and Kelsey Sederquest each went two-for-three for the Packers (4-10 overall).
