Letter carriers in Austin and Mower County thank all who generously gave to our recent food drive.

A special thank you to Craig Mielke and All Weather Roof for their special donation. You really came through as we collected over 14,400 pounds of much needed food for our local food shelves. Thank you Janet Anderson of KAAL-TV, John Wright of KAUS AM/FM and the Austin Daily Herald for helping get the word out. Thanks to Hy-Vee for donating bags and to the Chamber Ambassadors for all the support. Our gratitude goes to the volunteers from the Austin High Honor Society and Sharon Alms. We appreciate city churches for your assistance.

Finally, thank you Mayor Tom Stiehm and the city council for your year-to-year support. We will be at it again next year the second Saturday in May to help provide food for those in our area who need it.
