Hayfield baseball team knocks off past JWP

The No. 4 seeded Hayfield baseball team knocked off No. 5 Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton (11-7 overall) 8-5 in Hayfield Thursday.
The Vikings (12-9 overall) jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning and they held an 8-1 lead after six innings.
“It was nice to get ahead right away. Everyone kind of relaxed,” Hayfield head coach Kasey Krekling said.
Hayfield had five players with multiple hits and seven players with at least one hit in the win. Brady Dahl and Kolby Tapp each had two RBIs.
The Vikings will take on top-seeded United South Center at Riverland Community College 10 a.m. Saturday.
