BP baseball team tops LP in nine innings

The Blooming Prairie baseball team knocked off Lyle-Pacelli 19-18 in nine innings in BP Wednesday.

The Awesome Blossoms (2-16 overall) tied the game in the seventh when Max Romeo knocked in two runs and they won the game in the bottom of the ninth when Brad Staska scored on a fielder’s choice.

“It shows a lot about these kids,” BP head coach Matt Kittelson said. “They’re starting to believe and they’re starting to have more confidence. We’re building towards the playoffs and we’re also building towards next year. These young kids have come a long way.”

The game was continued from earlier contest that had been postponed by rain, so LP (14-3 overall) started the day with a 17-11 in the fourth inning.
