Austin’s Perkins Restaurant & Bakery is closed for part of this week for remodeling.
Perkins, 701 17th Ave., closed Sunday and will reopen for business on Thursday following a remodeling project.
“We are truly pleased to have the opportunity to introduce our new and refreshed Perkins to the Austin community,” manager Larry Eisenberg said in a press release.
The restaurant’s remodel package, developed by Louis+Partners Design out of Akron, Ohio, features both external and interior enhancements, all of which Eisenberg says “demonstrate Perkins’ long-standing commitment to ensuring a positive and enjoyable dining experience for our guests.”
The exterior of the restaurant will include Perkins signature oval logo along with a welcoming interpretation of the entry arch and a contemporary take on the trademark green stripe awnings. Inside, guests will be drawn into a fresh, warm, comfortable environment showcasing an abundant bakery along with an array of dining zones. These dining areas will accommodate 175 guests and offer different types of experiences through unique presentations in space layout, seating, lighting and graphics, creating greater overall daypart appeal. Free Wi-Fi will be available.
The restaurant will serve Perkins legendary menu including breakfast items such as omelets and buttermilk pancakes that will be available all day, a complete line of lunch and dinner offerings and Perkins freshly prepared bakery products. A seniors’ as well as a kids’ menu will also be offered.
“What makes our menu so appealing is the fact that there is something for everyone,” Eisenberg said in the release. “We are extremely excited about our remodeled location in Austin. Our history and success with Perkins is strong and we are optimistic and look forward to reintroducing the restaurant’s new look.”
The Austin location, staffed by about 50 employees, will be open for business from 6 a.m to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, 6 a.m. to midnight Friday and 24 hours on Saturday.
