Robert A. (Sluber) Holland, 62, of Austin, Minnesota, died at home Friday, April 15, 2016.
Bob, known to all as Sluber, was born Nov. 25, 1953, to Mercedes (Wilson) Holland.
Sluber was a lifetime resident of Austin. After graduation from high school he married Julie Headington. They later divorced and there were no children.
Sluber worked as a meat cutter and delivery driver before starting at Quality Pork where he drove fork lift for 25 years. He was also a member of the Austin National Guard unit until retiring with the rank of sergeant.
Sluber enjoyed bowling and was a league member for years. He also shot pool and fished. But his real joy in life was being with friends.
Survivors include his step-father, Delmar Johnson Sr., Austin; brother, Charles Holland, Austin, Bruce Holland, Brownsdale, and Delmar Johnson, Jr., Austin; sisters, Suzanne (Jerry) Feine, Rochester, Tammy Clark, Glenville, and Laura (Tony) Pyburn, Blooming Prairie; one niece and three nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
No service is planned at this time, but there will be a gathering of family and friends in the near future to celebrate Sluber’s life.
