He was born to his parents Carl Charles Malenke and Emma (Ruesch) Malenke on Oct. 6, 1918, the third child out of four in Fulda, Minnesota. Glen married Bernice Ruth Rotermund on June 5, 1948, and celebrated more than 64 years of married life together. Glen was baptized into Christ as an infant. Raised on a farm between Worthington and Fulda, Minnesota, Glen proudly served his country as an Army medic for three-and-a-half years during World War II. After the war, he went to school in Minneapolis, Minnesota, graduating from Dunwoody Institute and meeting his future wife, Bernice at Mount Olive Lutheran Church there. Mechanically minded and interested especially in automobiles, Glen was employed by the Bill Todd Ford Dealership in Austin, Minnesota, then he managed Plant Standard gas station in Austin. After a summer working for Country Living (Evinrude motors) on the shores of Lake Minnetonka, Minnesota, in 1956, the family settled permanently in Austin where Glen became a Vocational School Auto Mechanics Instructor for 25 years. After his retirement in 1981, he taught driver training for the Lyle, Minnesota, School District until 1983. During their early retirement years, Glen and Bernice were snow birds, spending their winters in central Florida with summers in Austin, Minnesota. In 1998, they became full-time Florida residents, then moving to Cypress, Texas, in the summer of 2010 to live with one of their twin sons, NJ.

He is survived by four children, Norman, Norbert (NJ), Joeline (Mayes) and Daniel. He also counted as rich blessings his 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
