Fire claims barn; Horse, pony removed unharmed from rural Rose Creek structure

A horse barn was destroyed by a fire in rural Rose Creek Wednesday, but a horse and a pony were removed safely.
The Adams and Rose Creek Fire Departments responded to the fire shortly before noon, but the structure was a total loss.
“We’re just very grateful that the horses weren’t injured or anyone else,” said Angie Smith.
The barn at 13583 620th Ave. in is owned by Angie, Andy, Asa and Amy Smith.
The cause of the fire is unknown and the family doesn’t know if they will rebuild.
Angie thanked everyone for responding to the incident.
“We’re very grateful to the Adams and Rose Creek Fire Departments for their quick response,” she said.
