The Hayfield softball team struggled on defense as it lost 10-6 at Byron (8-4 overall, 4-1 HVL) Tuesday.

The Vikings (5-4 overall, 1-4 HVL) committed seven errors in the loss. Kelly Johnson and Grace Mindrup each had a home run for Hayfield.
