The Austin girls golf team started this year much better than it did last year as it opened the season in Red Wing Thursday.
The Packers tallied a team score of 415, which was approximately 100 strokes better than they did in last year’s season opener. Red Wing won the 11-team invite with a 294.
“We struggled on our short game on the greens, but it was still a big improvement from last year,” Austin head coach Ryan Wiechmann said.
Kristina Thorson and Mara Overby each shot a 100 for the Packers, Madelyn Brown shot a 107 and Anna Schara shot a 108.
