Virginia Angela Hangge, 80, of Marine on St. Croix, passed away peacefully on Monday, Feb. 29, 2016, in her family home surrounded by her family.
Virginia was born Dec. 22, 1935, to Michael “Nick” and Margaret (Christie) Wagner in Austin, Minnesota, one of 19 children. She was a 1953 graduate of St. Augustine High School in Austin and attended the University of Minnesota X-ray technician training. Virginia married Edward T. Hangge on June 23, 1956, in Austin. She was a former employee of US Bank in St. Paul. Virginia was a devout Catholic and prayed the Rosary daily. She devoted her life to her family and always put them first.
She was preceded in death by her parents; eight brothers and six sisters.
Virginia is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Ed; sons, Scott (MaryJo), Tom (Monica), Joe (Michele); daughters, Mary (Pat) Regan, and Jane (Bob) Harris; also 18 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; brother Jim (Kay) Wagner; sisters, Jeanne Hermanson, Barbara Burke and Gretchen McNamara; also numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2016, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 West Fifteenth St., Hastings with Fr. David Hennen and Fr. Robert Hart concelebrating. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service at church. Private interment will be held in the parish cemetery at a later date. Memorials are preferred.
