DULUTH — A late winter storm dropped heavy snow in parts of northern Minnesota and Wisconsin, while other areas dealt with flooding from downpours.
Silver Bay in Lake County is digging out from 11½ inches of snow while state transportation crews worked to clear a flooded Interstate 35 in downtown Duluth Wednesday, while four homes in central Wisconsin were evacuated.
In Wisconsin, Marathon City village administrator Andrew Kurtz says the four property owners voluntarily evacuated as rain and snow melt caused flooding around their homes.
Proctor resident Doug Kalland in Minnesota tells WDIO-TV that he’s learned from living in the area for 20 years to keep his snow equipment handy, even into “March madness.”
