Ruth Marilyn Wood, 82

Ruth was born on Nov. 29, 1933, the daughter of Henry and Alma (Ness) Jensen in Sargeant Township, Minnesota. She was a lifetime member of Evanger Lutheran Church. Ruth attended District 111 country school and graduated from Austin High School in 1952. She worked as a secretary in Austin after graduation. She was an active member of the Rural Youth Group and the friendships she made within that group endured for a lifetime.

Ruth married the love of her life, Lawrence Wood, at Evanger Lutheran Church on Dec. 29, 1960. She was a dedicated wife and mother who loved her family. She enjoyed sewing, making many bridal and prom gowns and mending many pairs of jeans. She also loved to knit and crochet. Ruth volunteered much of her time to her church; teaching, singing, and serving as WELCA president for Evanger and the Synod. She especially enjoyed being involved in the annual church lutefisk suppers.
