Packer boys basketball team beats Mankato West on the road

The Austin boys basketball team used a second half surge to get past Mankato West 78-65 on the road Friday.

The Scarlets (6-9 overall, 4-8 Big Nine) led 38-35 with 15 minutes left in the game, but the No. 4 ranked Packers (12-3 overall, 10-2 Big Nine) were able to find an answer.

Duoth Gach had a career-high 25 points in the win for the Packers.

“Elijah Andersen and Mark Manyuon came off the bench and gave us a spark in the second half,” Austin head coach Kris Fadness said. “Down the stretch, Jace and Duoth made plays for us.”
