Lois Arlene Nagel was born at Alexandria, Minnesota, on May 18, 1936, to the Rev. John D. and Freeda L. (Searles) Taylor. As a PK (pastor’s kid) she lived several places growing up: Parkers Prairie, Brownsdale, Joliet, Illinois, Robbinsdale and finally Rose Creek. She graduated from high school in Joliet and attended Moody Bible Institute. She worked at Osterhus Publishing for a time.

On Dec. 6, 1958, Lois married Richard L. Nagel. They were married at the Robbinsdale Baptist Church by the Rev. John D. Taylor (her father). To this union two children were born, Al and Dan.

Lois was a farm wife; they made their home at Rose Creek in Southern Minnesota. She enjoyed her flower garden, camping, music and most of all people and socializing. She was a book collector and very active in her church.

Lois is survived by her husband Richard of Dassel; sons: Al (Karen) of Dassel and Dan (Janelle) of Brooklyn Park; sister, Nila (Jim) Anderson of Monticello; brothers: John (Roberta) Taylor of Rosemont, Jerry (Claire) Taylor of Ely, Lee Taylor of Bellingham, Washington; grandchildren: Brandon (Leah) Nagel of Litchfield, Matthew (Carly) Nagel of Burnsville, Jonathon Nagel of St. Paul, Kelsey (Phil) Morris of Cokato, Andrew Nagel of Bloomington, Ashley Nagel of Bloomington, Sam Jakubowski of Shenandoah, Iowa, John Michael Jakubowski, of North Branch, Evan Jakubowski of Brooklyn Park, Joseph Jakubowski of Brooklyn Park; great-grandchildren: Brynn, Trig, Liam, Gracie, and Sawyer.

Lois is preceded in death by her parents, the Rev. John and Freeda Taylor.

Funeral Service for Lois will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2016, at Faith Lutheran Church of London, Minnesota. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at 3 p.m. at the Rose Creek Enterprise Cemetery of Austin on Saturday. There will be a visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday at Swanson Peterson Funeral Home of Cokato.
