ST. PAUL, Minn. — A jury has convicted a pregnant St. Paul woman of fatally stabbing her boyfriend last summer but found the killing was not intentional.
Natalie Pollard, 34, was convicted of second-degree unintentional murder. Jurors acquitted Pollard of second-degree intentional murder.
The defense maintained that Pollard acted in self-defense when she killed 30-year-old Obinna Udo Nwankpa on July 2.
Assistant Ramsey County Attorney Susan Hudson argued that Pollard had a history of being violent with Nwankpa.
Police were called about a domestic dispute and found Nwankpa unconscious and bloody at the bottom of the basement stairs. He died at a hospital.
