The Hayfield girls basketball team started fast as it beat Zumbrota-Mazeppa (3-6 overall) 69-41 on the road Tuesday.

The Vikings (9-4 overall) led 17-2 to start the game and sophomore Carrie Rutledge poured in 21 points.

“We played well, we shot well and we forced a lot of turnovers,” Hayfield head coach Fred Kindschy said.
