The Austin boys basketball team held off Mankato West (6-5 overall, 4-4 Big Nine) 72-69 in Packer Gym Saturday.

The Packers (8-3 overall, 6-2 Big Nine) were out-rebounded 37-24 and they trailed 38-31 at the half.

Jany Gash had a career-high 15 points for Austin and Jace Murray had 22 points.

“It was probably an entertaining game for the fans to watch, but it was a little hair raising for a coach,” Austin head coach Kris Fadness said.
