Elmer Frederick Kroneman, 90

Elmer Frederick Kroneman died on Jan. 25, 2016, at Osage Rehab Center of natural causes.
Elmer was born on April 28, 1925, in Mitchell County to parents Paul and Ida Kroneman. He joined his three brothers, Lloyd, Herbert, and Harvey, growing up on a farm west of Osage. At the age of 21, he trained at Fort Belvoir and joined the U.S. Army 79th engineers stationed in Guam.
He married the love of his life, Alice Kirchner, on Jan. 13, 1952, and they were blessed with three children: Kenneth, Donna, and Connie. Alice and Elmer were always together, through 64 years of loving faithful marriage. Elmer farmed all his life, mostly near Toeterville. He enjoyed working in his shop inventing new things like go-carts, a self-propelled snow blower, lawn mowers, tractors, and later the log cabin bird houses. Elmer liked riding his machines in parades, fishing, boating, bird watching and most importantly spending time with his family.
Elmer is survived by his wife, Alice; his children: Kenneth (Linda) Kroneman of Osage, Donna (Jack) Slowinski of Kasson, Minnesota, Connie Kroneman of Hopkins, Minnesota; grandchildren: Lisa (Adam) Lalim, Michelle Slowinski, Mike (Jennifer) Slowinski, Scott (Dee) Slowinski, Renae Kroneman, Travis (Megan) Kroneman; great-grandchildren: Brandon, Lily, and Noah Lalim, Manyah Schneider, Aubrey and Addison Slowinski, Peyton Kroneman, Chantra and Diane Sum; great-great-grandchildren: Jessalyn and Jadyn Kidd; sister-in-law Mildred Ballantyne; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents Paul and Ida; brothers: Lloyd, Herbert, and Harvey; sister-in-laws: Ruth, Dorothy, Gertrude, Arlene, Corrine and Maleta; brother-in-laws: Sonke, Willard and Alvin.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2016, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Schroeder and Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Jan. 28, 2016, at 11 a.m. at St. Peter Lutheran Church Toeterville, Iowa, with the Rev. Lance Kittleson Officiating.
