The Hayfield boys basketball team held a second half lead, but it couldn’t hang on as it lost 57-43 at Byron (13-5 overall, 9-2 HVL) Tuesday.

The Vikings (10-8 overall, 4-6 HVL) led 38-33 with 10 minutes left in the game, but the Bears responded with an 18-0 run. Hayfield had made eight three-pointers before Byron’s run and it never made another three the rest of the way.
