Girls basketball: Athletics surge past Rockets

The No. 9 ranked Lyle-Pacelli girls basketball team used a strong second half to put away Randolph (7-3 overall, 4-3 SEC) in a 69-41 win on the road Thursday.

LP (10-1 overall, 7-0 SEC) opened the second half on a 16-2 run as they took over the game.

“We played a really good second half with a balanced scoring attack,” LP head coach Justin Morris said.

Sarah Holtz had 26 points and eight rebounds for LP, Kristi Fett had 12 points and 11 rebounds, Brooke Walter had 11 points, six steals and four assists and Courtney Walter had nine points, three assists and five steals.
