GROVE CITY — Authorities say a woman whose body was found in a drainage ditch in central Minnesota probably drowned.

The Meeker County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday identified the woman as 39-year-old Toni Cottrill of Paynesville.

Sheriff Brian Cruze says Cottrill appears to have drowned. The sheriff’s office responded to a report of a missing person at a home around 4:45 p.m. Monday. Just after 8 p.m., deputies found Cottrill’s body in a ditch about a third of a mile west of the residence.
