ST. PAUL — A 13-year-old accused of assaulting a St. Paul school staff member is in juvenile detention.
Authorities say the attack Wednesday at Journeys Secondary School is one of dozens of assaults in Ramsey County schools this year. Journeys is a school for students with emotional and behavioral issues. Minnesota Public Radio News reports the staff member was punched, but did not seek medical attention.
St. Paul Superintendent Valeria Silva said this week she’s concerned about school safety, but says a plan by the teachers union would cost too much.
