The Austin boys hockey team lost 8-2 at Mankato East (2-6 overall, 2-4 Big Nine) Thursday.
The Packers (0-6-1 overall, 0-5 Big Nine) led 2-1 after the first period and East took a 4-2 lead going into the third period. The Cougars out-shot Austin 31-25.
“They controlled the game and it got away from us,” Austin head coach Erik LaRock said. “We just gave up too many scoring opportunities.”
