The Blooming Prairie girls basketball team bounced back from a slow start as it beat New Richland-HEG (5-2 overall, 2-1 Gopher) to win 45-31 in BP Tuesday.
McKenna Hein had six points, six rebounds and four steals for BP (7-2 overall, 2-1 Gopher) and Kalyn Naatz had eight points and teen rebounds.
BP trailed 6-0 to start the game, but it went on a 27-7 run over the last 12 minutes of the half.
“After starting the game a bit stagnant offensively, we made a couple adjustments in how we were attacking NRHEG’s 1-3-1 defense,” BP head coach John Bruns said. “I have to give all the credit to my assistant coaches Cory Hendrickson and Dean Meshke for the strategy and to the girls for being flexible and executing the changes.”
