DULUTH — Police say seven people protesting an oil pipeline project in northern Minnesota were arrested after they refused to leave an Enbridge Energy office in Duluth.
The seven were taken to the St. Louis County Jail Monday afternoon on possible charges of trespassing. Duluth police say those arrested were part of a march and rally against the Enbridge pipeline projects. Several tribal and environmental groups organized the protest. They say the pipelines are a threat to climate, water and communities in the Great Lakes region.
Enbridge is seeking regulatory approval for the new Sandpiper Pipeline and a replacement of its Line 3 pipeline.
